Creating a Hybrid Work Schedule that Caters to Work-Life Balance > IM Lifestyle

By | October 20, 2021

Most people have been raised to work a typical 9-5 job on a daily basis, Monday through Friday, with weekends off. But whether you’re working for a company that is flexible with schedules or as an online entrepreneur, you don’t have to abide by this traditional way of working.

A hybrid work schedule is being adopted by more and more individuals because of its ability to cater to the self-care needs of men and women whose routines may not match with that of the past.

If you’re working for someone else, go to your boss or human resources department and inquire about a schedule that either allows you to work different hours (such as 10-7 instead of 8-5).

Or, ask them if you can work a four-day work week, where your working days are a bit longer than usual to account for the fifth day off, giving you a three-day weekend to enjoy with your family and friends.

If you’re a work-at-home online entrepreneur, you won’t have to ask for permission – you can just alter your schedule so that it works best for you. You can do this a number of ways.

First and foremost, you won’t have to work any traditional hours during the day. If you have family things you’d like to tend to during the day, such as volunteering at your child’s school, attending their sporting events, and having family dinners, you can choose to start work after the kids have gone to bed and you’re able to focus and devote some time to your business.

You can also work more or fewer days if you’d prefer. Some people like to work less, but more often. You might enjoy working 3-4 hours a day but working 6-7 days a week. Or, you might want to work 8 hours a day for 3 days a week.

You can even do a super hybrid work schedule that’s very unique where you wake up, do an hour or two of work, then have some personal time, followed by another hour or two of work, and more down time.

You don’t have to have a rigid schedule. You can stop working whenever you feel like it and fire up the laptop and be productive when you want to, too. As long as you’re not contributing to an imbalance where your personal or professional life is leeching into the other, you can do it any way you like!
